Gunmen Kill 2 In Osun

There was confusion yesterday in Osogbo, Osun State as gunmen killed two persons in different parts of the state.

Our correspondent gathered that the deceased, identified as Small Rugged and the other known as Oosa were enjoying themselves at different locations in the state capital when the killer squad launched attacks on them with some others who were injured.

It was further gathered that while one was shot dead at a lounge at Owo Eba area of the town, the other was killed at Oke Baale area of the town.

The killings during broad daylight caused panic in the Oja Oba, Owo Eba and Oke Baale area of the state capital.

A community leader, Kayode Ibidun called on the state police command to end cult activities in the state saying that the recent killing may not be unconnected with the gruesome murder of Emir Ajagungbade in Ile-Ife.

Confirming the killings, the state police command public relations officer, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi said the killers were suspected cultists.

His words: “The command is aware of a shooting incident suspected to be a cult clash around Oke Bale area Osogbo. Two persons died at the spot, one identified as ‘’Small Rugged’’ other names yet unknown.

“Four other people sustained gunshot injury and have been rushed by the police to a nearby hospital for treatment”.

Ojelabi said that the state commissioner of police CP Ibrahim Zungura has directed tactical teams to move out to apprehend those behind this nefarious act.
