Harry And Meghan Enjoy Pub Lunch Like ‘Locals’ In Cotswolds

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been spotted enjoying a relaxed pub outing in the Cotswolds, with the couple appearing to settle into life in Britain away from the spotlight.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were photographed holding hands as they made their way to The Falkland Arms on Thursday, their first joint sighting since their unexpected return to the UK.

Harry kept his outfit casual, wearing a Santa Barbara Fire Department baseball cap, while Meghan also opted for an understated look.

The couple later ate at the 16th-century pub, where Meghan ordered gluten-free beer-battered haddock and chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce. Harry chose chicken, ham and leek pie with seasonal greens, mashed potatoes and gravy.

According to a pub insider quoted by The Sun, the pair were treated no differently from other customers.

“Everyone here gets the royal treatment — it doesn’t matter who you are,” the insider said. “When they visited, Harry and Meghan just acted like locals.”

Their return to Britain has not been entirely straightforward, however, with security concerns surrounding their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The couple recently objected to photographers reportedly monitoring the perimeter of their children’s school. A spokesperson for the Sussexes described the behaviour as “extraordinarily reckless” and said photographers should respect the children’s privacy.

Harry subsequently said his children are “happy in school” and described being back in Britain as “great.”
