2027: First Lady Hosts 20,000 Women In Abuja Today

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, is set to host a major national gathering of women stakeholders in Abuja today, as part of preparations for the 2027 presidential campaign and efforts to strengthen women’s participation in the political process.

The Women Stakeholders’ Mobilisation and Empowerment Pre-Inaugural Campaign Roll-Out 2027, organised under the Women Mobilisation Directorate of the 2027 APC Presidential Campaign Council, is expected to attract over 20,000 women stakeholders nationwide.

The event is scheduled for 8am at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre (BATICC), Abuja.
The gathering is themed “Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0: From Reforms to Prosperity”, with the mobilisation message, “One Voice, One Movement, One Choice, One Mandate 2027.”

The summit is expected to bring together women leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, grassroots organisers, political stakeholders, community representatives and members of various women’s groups from across the country.

Speaking ahead of the summit, a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council Women Mobilisation Planning Committee, Hon Princess Gloria Akobundu, highlighted various Federal Government programmes which she said had impacted the lives of millions of Nigerian women and youths.

Akobundu said President Bola Tinubu’s re-election would provide an opportunity for the consolidation of the administration’s programmes and interventions.

She cited the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), infrastructure development, social protection interventions, access to consumer credit, digital skills development and youth empowerment among the initiatives of the administration.

She called on women in Imo State and across the South-East to strengthen their mobilisation efforts and take the Renewed Hope message to communities and localities across the region.

Akobundu said the Abuja gathering would provide an opportunity for women stakeholders to engage, mobilise and contribute to the political process ahead of the 2027 elections.
