2027: Niger PDP Unveils Governorship Campaign Council

As 2027 General Elections-related activities hit high gears nationwide, Niger State Executives of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have announced the leadership structure charged with driving the election of the PDP Governorship Candidate Malam Muhammad Nami,

Malam Nami ; the immediate past Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), formerly Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), is seen as frontline contender to unseat the incumbent governor Mohammed Umaru Bago who has battled since the All Progressives Congress APC primary to forge a united front in the party.

Malam Nami is also set to return the state to the PDP fold, which the state belongs to from 1999 until the Muhammadu Buhari effect of 2015 caused a glitch for the party nationwide.

Announcing the campaign council announcement was the Niger State Chairman of the PDP, Hon. Halidu Aliyu Muhammad said, Alhaji Gambo Ladan has been appointed as the Director-General (DG) of the Nami Campaign Organisation while Arc. Suleiman (Maibabur) was appointed as the Campaign Advisory Chairman.

The official appointment letters were presented to the appointees by Hon. Dahiru DanAzumi.
