President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will on October 14 inaugurate the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration, scheduled to hold at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, will bring together party leaders and other stakeholders to coordinate the president’s re-election campaign.
Former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari, who is the Director-General of the campaign council, disclosed this on Friday after meeting with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa.
Yari told State House correspondents that the president had approved the proposed campaign timetable, with the first rally scheduled to hold in Kaduna on October 24.
He said the campaign would subsequently move to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
Ahead of the inauguration, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu and the Director of Women Mobilisation of the campaign council, Dr Betta Edu, have commenced efforts to mobilise women across the country in support of the president’s re-election bid.
Edu and her team have set a target of mobilising 40 million women’s votes for the Tinubu-Shettima ticket through a nationwide engagement strategy covering 176,846 communities and polling-unit structures across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The mobilisation drive is expected to focus on grassroots outreach, community networks and communicating the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0.
The October 14 inauguration is expected to formalise the campaign council’s operations and provide a coordinated structure for the APC’s activities ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The planned Kaduna rally on October 24 is expected to mark the commencement of Tinubu’s nationwide re-election campaign.
