The reps candidate made the vow during the unveiling his campaign office and the Bakassi Chapter NDC Secretariat yesterday in Ikang community, Bakassi local government area of Cross River.
He stressed that the office isn’t established for his private use in the area but as a rendezvous for party faithful to meet and brainstorm on critical issue affecting the party.
“This office belongs to the people of Bakassi,” Hogan declared before party elders, community leaders, ward executives and faithful. “It is a home for our party and a place where your ideas, your concerns and your aspirations will be heard.”
Hogan said Bakassi had suffered oppression in the hands of several leaders for too long adding that the constituents deserves a representative who can speak boldly and act decisively in their stead in Abuja.
“I will carry the Bakassi voice to the National Assembly.I want you to have a voice you can trust, a voice that can speak with conviction and works for practical results.”
He promised to listen to affected communities and press for fair, practical and lasting solutions to the resettlement of displaced Bakassi families.
Among the issues that he promised to address once he comes on board at the lower chamber of National Assembly include resettlement of displaced families who lost their ancestral land to neighboring Cameroon as a result of the ICP judgment that ceded their father land to the Cameroons.
The NDC candidate described resettlement as a matter of human dignity, livelihoods, security and the future of displaced families.
“For years, our people have borne the burden of displacement,” Hogan said. “I will take their concerns to the appropriate authorities and ensure they are no longer forgotten.” He pledged “competent, effective, credible and result-driven representation” for Bakassi, Akpabuyo and Calabar South.
Hogan promised to tackle the Ikang–Calabar highway, connecting roads, schools, health centres and the electrification of Bakassi.
“Electricity is not a luxury, it is a fundamental right,” he said. “Once elected, I will make the electrification of Bakassi an urgent priority.”
He pledged to lead with listening and accountability through regular town hall meetings, adding: “Your voice will guide my priorities, and your needs will shape my work. Ready to Serve, Ready to Deliver.”
