There was drama on the entrance of the Nationwide Meeting advanced in Abuja on Tuesday as safety operatives prevented suspended Kogi Central senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, from getting access to the premises.
Akpoti-Uduaghan arrived on the gate accompanied by distinguished activist Aisha Yesufu, rights advocate Mama P, activist Randy, and a crowd of supporters.
Nonetheless, safety officers stationed on the gate denied her entry, citing undisclosed directions.
Tensions rose when Yesufu confronted the officers, difficult the legitimacy of the order.
“Nationwide Meeting is supposed to be for everybody. Why are you stopping us?” she requested.
“We’re not abiding doesn’t imply we’re cowards,” she added.
The state of affairs escalated as a few of Natasha’s supporters started chanting “Push!” and tried to breach the gate.
The group later marched towards the advanced, singing solidarity songs protesting the senator’s exclusion.
