PICTORIAL: Troops Destroy Kidnap Cell, Rescue 14 Victims

Troops of Sector 1, Joint Job Power South-East, Operation UDO KA (OPUK), have efficiently rescued 14 kidnap victims in a high-impact raid inside the Orokam Forest hall linking Udenu LGA of Enugu State and Ogbadigbo LGA of Benue State.

Military Headquarters sources mentioned the operation was triggered by actionable intelligence from vigilant group sources.

In keeping with the supply, troops working in live performance with native vigilantes mounted a deliberate assault on a suspected kidnap hideout hid deep within the forest.

The supply mentioned the criminals on seeing the troops unleashed gunfire, prompting a fierce engagement.

“The joint drive’s superior firepower, tactical manoeuvre and relentless advance compelled the abductors to interrupt contact and flee, abandoning the abductees,” the supply said.

He mentioned the rescued victims have been seized over the weekend whereas getting back from a burial occasion and have been being held in dispersed clusters throughout the forest.

Intelligence additional indicated that the victims have been kidnapped from two separate communities: Ezimo Agu in Udenu LGA of Enugu State and Orokam in Ogbadigbo LGA of Benue State.
