Gov Adeleke Launches Imole Scholarship Award In Osun

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has launched the Imole Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) Scholarship Award, designed to celebrate excellence and further elevate Osun State from its 7th position among the comity of states.

In his address at the maiden edition of the scholarship programme held at the Osun State University, the governor said the scholarship is aimed at raising a generation that will not walk in darkness.

He said the event honoured the achievements of the students, the teachers, the parents, and the Ministry of Education, even as the commissioner for Education, Hon. Dipo Eluwole, showed hard copies of the NECO 2024 and 2025 reports, rating Osun as number seven in national Education NECO performance.

The governor added, “My people of Osun state, Osun is at an unusual time ahead of the 15 August election.

Those who hijacked and diverted over N300 billion Osun local government funds are desperate.

No fewer than 31 students from across all the local government areas in the state were awarded cash gifts in what the Osun State Government, in partnership with a consulting firm, Electronic Collections Group (ECG), described as “Celebrating Academic Excellence and Rewarding outstanding students in the SSCE (WAEC).”

Each of the best students, drawn from the 30 local government areas of the state, was rewarded with N100,000, while the overall best student in the state received N1 million.

The lead consultant for the Electronic Collection Group and the main partner for the scholarship, Engr Kayode Akinmade, commended the governor for initiating and authorising the scholarship scheme, calling it “a giant leap in support of state education.
