APC Vows To Reclaim Jigawa Southwest Senatorial District

The Jigawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has vowed to reclaim the Jigawa Southwest Senatorial District seat it lost to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general election.

The party’s Publicity Secretary, Malam Bashir Kundu, stated this shortly after the conclusion of the state senatorial primary elections in Jigawa State.

Kundu said the APC, under the leadership of Governor Umar Namadi and state party chairman Hon. Ahmad Maikudi, remains united, stronger, and fully prepared to win all elective positions in the 2027 general elections.

He said the high turnout and peaceful conduct of the primaries reflected the party’s growing acceptance among voters across the state.

“The people of Jigawa have confidence in our party. The dividends of democracy they are enjoying will also not allow them to vote for any party other than APC,” Kundu said.

According to him, all three senatorial candidates of the APC emerged unopposed in the primaries.

He listed the candidates as Senator Babangida Hussain for Jigawa Northwest, Senator Ahmed Muhammad Malammadori for Jigawa Northeast, and Engr. Sani Garba as the flag bearer for Jigawa Southwest Senatorial District.

Kundu added that the party is confident of reclaiming the lost seat, citing unity within the party and strong grassroots support as key factors ahead of the 2027 elections.
