Fanwo Hails Abejide’s Victory At Kogi APC Primaries

Kogi State commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, has congratulated Leke Abejide on his victory at the APC House of Representatives primary election for Yagba Federal Constituency.

Speaking with journalists after the conclusion of the exercise on Saturday, Fanwo described the outcome as a clear endorsement of performance, accessibility and effective representation by the people of Mopamuro local government area.

According to him, Abejide secured massive support across the 10 wards in Mopamuro, a development he said reflected the appreciation of the people for impactful leadership and visible democratic dividends.

“Mopamuro has spoken with one voice. Rt. Hon. Leke Abejide has changed the meaning and colour of representation in Yagba Federal Constituency through quality service and commitment to the people,” Fanwo stated.

He disclosed that Abejide recorded landslide victories across all the wards in the local government, noting that about 92 percent of voters who participated in the primary freely voted in his favour.

Fanwo described the exercise as peaceful, transparent and a true reflection of the wishes of party members at the grassroots, adding that the outcome further demonstrated the growing confidence of the people in Abejide’s leadership style.

The commissioner commended members of the All Progressives Congress across Mopamuro and the entire Yagba Federal Constituency for their orderly conduct during the exercise, stressing that internal democracy remains one of the strongest pillars of the APC.

He noted that Abejide’s popularity was built on years of visible projects, empowerment programmes, educational support, community interventions and consistent engagement with constituents rather than empty political promises.

“Politics is about impact. The people know leaders who remember them only during elections and those who stand with them at all times. Rt. Hon. Leke Abejide has maintained a strong grassroots connection through service, compassion and dedication to development, and that is why the people have renewed their confidence in him,” he added.

Fanwo further described the primary election as a victory for democracy and the ordinary people whose voices were reflected in the outcome of the poll.

He expressed confidence that the APC would emerge stronger and more united ahead of the general election, urging party members and supporters to continue working together for the progress of the party and the development of Yagba Federal Constituency.

The commissioner also praised the electoral committee, security agencies and party stakeholders for ensuring a peaceful and credible process, saying their professionalism contributed significantly to the success of the primary election.

He prayed for greater wisdom and strength for Abejide as he prepares for the next phase of the electoral process, expressing optimism that the lawmaker would continue to justify the confidence reposed in him by the people.
