APC Senate Primaries: Senate Leader Opeyemi, Senate Spokesman Adaramodu, Oyebanji’s Campaign DG Secure Return Tickets For Ekiti

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Assembly Electoral Committee for the Senatorial Primary Election in Ekiti State has declared the incumbent senators representing the three senatorial districts in the state winners of the party’s senatorial primary elections.

The senatorial primary elections were held across the three senatorial districts of the state.

Declaring the results, the committee chairman, Asipa Wasiu Adedoyin Banjo, said the Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, who emerged as the district’s sole consensus candidate, secured a total of 29,586 votes through affirmation to clinch the ticket.

Senator Cyril Fasuyi of Ekiti North polled 14,179 votes to defeat a former representative of the district in the National Assembly, Senator Ayodele Arise, who scored 4,868 votes, and two other aspirants to secure the ticket.

The APC senatorial electoral committee also declared the Senate spokesman, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, winner of the Ekiti South Senatorial District primary after polling 12,200 votes to defeat former Senate Minority Leader, Senator Biodun Olujimi, who scored 7,420 votes, and former House of Representatives member, Bamidele Faparusi, who garnered 5,502 votes.

Banjo said:

“That I am the returning officer for the Ekiti Central Senatorial Primary Election held on the 18th day of May 2026. The only aspirant who contested the election is Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, and he was returned with 29,586 votes.

“That Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, having satisfied the requirements of the APC constitution and guidelines and scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner of the primary election and is returned elected as the party’s senatorial candidate for Ekiti Central Senatorial District.”

For Ekiti North, he said:

“As the chairman of the Senatorial Primary Election Committee, I hereby certify that I am the returning officer for the Ekiti North Senatorial Primary Election held on the 18th day of May 2026.

“The aspirants who contested the election received the following votes: Otunba Oluwadare Owolabi, 2,836 votes; Senator Cyril Fasuyi, 14,179 votes; Senator Ayodele Arise, 4,868 votes; and Bamisaye Oladipupo Olukayode, 3,694 votes.

“That Senator Cyril Fasuyi, having satisfied the requirements of the APC constitution and guidelines and having scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner of the primary election and is returned elected as the party’s senatorial candidate for Ekiti North Senatorial District.”

For Ekiti South Senatorial District, he said:

“As the chairman of the Senatorial Primary Election Committee, I hereby certify that I am the returning officer for the Ekiti South Senatorial Primary Election held on the 18th day of May 2026.

“The aspirants who contested the election received the following votes: Senator Yemi Adaramodu, 12,200 votes; Senator Biodun Olujimi, 7,420 votes; and Hon. Bamidele Faparusi, 5,502 votes.

“That Senator Yemi Adaramodu, having satisfied the requirements of the APC constitution and guidelines and scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner of the primary election and is returned elected as the party’s senatorial candidate for Ekiti South Senatorial District.”
