The immediate past Speaker Benue State House of Assembly and member representing Gboko West constituency, Hyacinth Aondona Dajoh, has withdrawn from the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election and joined the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of 2027 elections.
Dajoh, who was seeking APC State Assembly return ticket alleged that his decision to quit the party followed “the manipulation and lack of transparency that have characterised the ongoing APC primary elections conducted across the state”
The former speaker visited former Benue state Governor and state PDP leader, Chief Samuel Ortom, on Wednesday, after joining the opposition party.
The statement issued by Dajoh’s
media aide, Agber Kulugh, earlier said the former Speaker thanked his supporters and party faithful across Gboko West Constituency and the Gboko Local Government Area for their overwhelming support, loyalty and confidence in his leadership and vision for the people.
Dajoh, urged his supporters and political associates to remain calm and peaceful, “while awaiting further directives” the statement stated.
