Court Restrains APC From Suspending Ex-Rep Eyiboh

Akwa Ibom State High Court in Oruk Anam local government area Judicial Division has restrained the All Progressives Congress (APC) from enforcing the alleged suspension of Mr Eseme Eyiboh, a former House of Representatives member for Eket/Esit Eket/Onna/Ibeno federal constituency pending the hearing and determination of a substantive motion before it.

LEADERSHIP Friday gathered that Eyiboh, currently a senior aide to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, was suspended by the APC Executive of his ward in Esit Eket, following his stance on who should represent the Eket federal constituency in the general elections against the existing zoning arrangement.

However, in a suit filed on his behalf by one Prophet Edet Ben, against the suspension, the trial judge, Justice Nkereuwem Obot, granted the stay of execution of the suspension order, issued against Eyiboh on April 22, 2026.

In the interim order, the court directed the APC not to give effect to the publication issued by the defendants pending the determination of the motion on notice, and adjourned to June 22, 2026, for the continuation of the matter.
