Nigerian actor and film director, Daniel Etim Effiong, has attracted strong reactions online after sharing his views on how wives should handle infidelity in marriage.
In an old interview with Nigerian digital storyteller and entrepreneur Ifedayo Agoro, the actor explained that partners are expected to focus on helping each other overcome problems in marriage and work together to heal, rather than dwell on the hurt.
He said, “The first approach to your partner cheating in a marriage should come from a place of ‘how can I help you?’
His statement quickly gained attention on social media, with many users debating issues of accountability, forgiveness, and emotional responsibility in relationships.
He continued by saying, “If they cheat on you, they are in a problem, so you should ask yourself how you can help them get out of that problem, and then we can start healing.”
This continues to be an ongoing struggle, as analysts say opinions about celebrities are influenced by online discourse, often sparking both support and criticism from audiences with differing personal beliefs and experiences.
