Eid-el-Kabir: Tinubu, Govs, Akpabio Pledge Improved Security, Call For National Unity

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governors and Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Tuesday assured Nigerians that the country’s difficult economic period was gradually easing, declaring that the “walk through the dark tunnel is over.”

According to Tinubu, government reforms are beginning to stabilise the economy and attract investment.

The President also assured communities affected by terrorism and banditry that they had not been abandoned, vowing that his administration would ultimately defeat all forces of evil threatening the country.

Tinubu stated this in his Eid-el-Kabir message to Muslims in Nigeria and across the world ahead of the Sallah celebration.

According to him, the sacrifices made by Nigerians in the last three years were beginning to yield positive results, noting that the country was now becoming a preferred investment destination capable of driving job creation and economic growth.

“As a nation, we are on a journey of reconstruction and renewal. The reforms we have undertaken are challenging but necessary to build a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria for future generations,” he said.

“Just as sacrifice brings reward, I am happy that the sacrifices and efforts we have made over the past three years have yielded a more stable economy, making our country a preferred investment destination that will drive job creation and economic growth. The walk through the dark tunnel is over, and the light is here.”

“I am aware that, despite the best efforts of our security and intelligence agencies — including the recent elimination of a wanted ISIS leader — heartless terrorists and bandits still attack some communities,” Tinubu said.

“I assure you: you are neither abandoned nor forgotten. We will ultimately defeat all the forces of evil.”

First Lady Seeks Continued Prayers For Nigeria

The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called on Nigerians to continue praying for peace, stability and prosperity in the country as Muslims celebrate Eid al-Kabir.

In her Eid el-Kabir message released on Tuesday, the First Lady extended warm greetings to Muslim faithful across Nigeria and in the diaspora, describing the festival as a period of reflection on the virtues of sacrifice, obedience, faith and compassion.

She urged Nigerians to embrace peaceful coexistence and live in harmony, stressing that the nation’s strength lies in unity and mutual respect.

Akpabio Calls For Sacrifice, Unity, National Renewal

President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has felicitated President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and Muslim faithful in Nigeria and around the world on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.

In a statement issued to journalists yesterday in Abuja by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, the Senate President said the occasion calls for prayer and sober reflection on the theme of sacrifice.

“This sacred occasion reminds us of Prophet Ibrahim’s unwavering faith, obedience, and willingness to sacrifice for the sake of Almighty Allah.

“These timeless virtues of devotion, selflessness, and submission to divine will are values our nation desperately needs today,” he stated.

Akpabio said: “To our dear President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, and Muslim brothers and sisters, I felicitate with them on behalf of my family, constituents, and the Senate on this blessed Eid.

Radda Felicitates Muslims on Eid al-Adha, Calls for Prayers.

The Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Umaru Radda, has extended warm Eid-el-Adha greetings to Muslims in Katsina State, across Nigeria and around the world, urging the faithful to pray for peace, security and national unity.

In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, Governor Radda described Eid-el-Adha as a timeless symbol of faith, obedience and selfless sacrifice, stressing that the virtues embodied in the celebration should guide both leaders and citizens.

The Governor noted that the Day of Arafat, the spiritual peak of the Hajj pilgrimage, offers a unique opportunity for prayers and supplications.

He called on Muslims to use the sacred occasion to seek divine intervention for lasting peace, security and tranquillity in Katsina State and across the country.

Governor Radda also reflected on the example of Prophet Ibrahim’s total submission to the will of Allah, describing it as a model of steadfastness and sacrifice that remains relevant for leadership and nation-building, especially in challenging times.

CAN Felicitates Muslims, Seeks Promotion Of Unity, Peaceful Coexistence.

The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Borno State Chapter, Most Rev Dr John Bogna Bakeni, has felicitated with Muslim faithful on the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

Bakeni, the Auxiliary Bishop of Maiduguri Catholic Diocese, who made the felicitation in his special sallah greetings to the entire Muslim Ummah in Borno State and beyond on Tuesday in Maiduguri, called on the faithful to continue to preach and work for justice and peaceful harmony in the State.

Bishop Bakeni further urged the faithful to remember the poor and needy around them as they share and exchange gifts during the celebration.

He said,” On behalf of the entire Christian community in Borno State, I wish to felicitate with the Muslim ummah in Borno State and beyond as they mark the Eid-el-Kabir celebration this year 2026.

NOA DG Urges Citizens To Show Patriotism At Eid al-Adha

The Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, has urged Nigerians to uphold faith in God and demonstrate patriotism to the country as Muslims across the nation celebrate Eid al-Adha.

Issa-Onilu stated that the Eid celebration serves as a reminder of the need for citizens to remain committed to the ideals of peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and collective responsibility towards nation-building.

In a statement issued to journalists yesterday in Abuja, the NOA Director-General said the lessons of Eid al-Adha remain relevant to Nigeria’s current realities, stressing that sacrifice, discipline, and compassion are essential virtues required for national growth and stability.

He encouraged Muslims to emulate the exemplary devotion and obedience of Prophet Ibrahim by promoting acts of kindness, charity, and support for the less privileged during the celebration.

According to him, national development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace, collective responsibility, and a shared commitment to the country’s progress.

While acknowledging ongoing government efforts to address insecurity, Issa-Onilu urged citizens to avoid actions that could threaten public peace and unity and instead embrace dialogue, tolerance, and responsible conduct before, during, and after the festivities.
