Mohammed Bello El-Rufai has emerged as the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for Kaduna North Federal Constituency after recording a sweeping victory in the party’s primary election.
The lawmaker secured 7,727 votes in the exercise and was returned unopposed, sealing his position as the party’s standard bearer for the constituency.
Following the announcement of the results, El-Rufai thanked party leaders, delegates, supporters and stakeholders for the confidence reposed in him. He described the outcome as a strong endorsement of his leadership and pledged to continue working for the growth of the party in Kaduna North.
The ADC candidate said the victory was not solely his achievement but a product of collective efforts by party members who have remained committed to strengthening the party’s presence at the grassroots level.
According to him, his emergence reflects years of political engagement and collaboration with stakeholders across the constituency. He pledged to sustain an inclusive style of leadership while prioritising the needs and welfare of residents.
El-Rufai also acknowledged the contributions of party members who initially showed interest in the ticket but later supported a consensus arrangement.
He specifically commended Hon. Nazifi Jibo, Hon. Salihu Abubakar and Hon. Yazeed Atta for their roles in promoting unity within the party ahead of the primary.
Describing them as respected political figures and community leaders, El-Rufai said their decision to support a common front helped strengthen the ADC’s structure and internal cohesion in Kaduna North.
He further noted that the party’s success would depend on unity and cooperation among members, urging supporters to remain focused on the task ahead.
The lawmaker reiterated his commitment to campaigning vigorously for the ADC and working closely with stakeholders to advance development within the constituency. He promised to intensify grassroots mobilisation and ensure that residents remain at the centre of his legislative priorities.
El-Rufai said the mandate comes with a responsibility to deliver effective representation and accountable leadership, adding that he would continue to pursue policies aimed at improving the lives of constituents.
He also called on party members to close ranks and work together to position the ADC for future electoral victories in Kaduna State and beyond.
