Don’t Depend On Men’s Money To Live Meaningful Life, Bishop Adejumo Tells Nigerian Women 

A global respected thought leader and passionate advocate for women emancipation, Bishop Funke Felix-Adejumo, has called on women not to depend on men’s money to live a meaningful life.

Bishop Adejumo, widely known for her dynamic voice, said women, especially married women can no longer afford to get married, sit at home and be producing children alone, adding that God did not create them to give birth alone but to make greater impact in the society.

Speaking as a guest speaker at a programme organised by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Everlasting Convenant Zone, FCT 11, tagged “Women of Greater Height” at the weekend, Bishop Adejumo spoke on the need for women to know God, have relationship with Him, identify their talents, sharpen their skills, value themselves, have passive income, invest wisely and maintain healthy relationships.

According to her, there is a difference between spirituality and religion, hence women must learn deliberately to honour God and men.

While making reference to the book of John 3:27, Bishop Adejumo said women who want to be great in life should be humble, listen to correction and be grateful.

“Like yourself and invest in yourself. If the totality of your spending is based on your husband, you are a waste. Don’t let your life be based on Sexually Transmitted Money (STM).

“Women of greater height should not allow anyone to pull them down for whatever reason. According to Job 12:13, no woman is inferior to anyone. Therefore, love yourself, believe in yourself and celebrate yourself at all time,” she stated.

While asking the women in attendance to give their lives to Jesus, she said life is too short for it to be wasted.

“Love the Lord, serve the Lord and be passionate about God. You can’t be sleeping around with men to have money. Keep your dignity and don’t let anybody mess you up, but firmly believe in yourself.”

She also urged the women to invest more in shares, saying that most women have expensive handbags and clothes they do not use in six months, telling them to “Go and sell them to buy shares.”

She told the gathering to strengthen their passive income, adding that “in the evening of their lives, it is passive income that will sustain them.”

Speaking on relationships, she urged the women to avoid parasitic and jealous colleagues.

Earlier, Wife of the the RCCG Provincial Pastor, FCT 11, Mrs. Mary Folorunsho, called on the women to rise up, look up to God and utilise the salvation God has deposited in them, urging them not to bury their talents.

She also called on the women to shun fears, not to panic and to ask God for the identification of their talents and positively utilise them.

She said: “There will be a lot of oppositions to your grateness but don’t be afraid and remain focused. Activate your talent and don’t be like that servant who hide his talent.”

For the zonal pastor in charge of RCCG, Everlasting Convenant Zone, Pastor Dele Jegede, the event was put together for women to begin to realise themselves, do well for themselves and make positive impact in the society.

He said the takeaway from the event was part of what the RCCG General Overseer’s wife, Mummy Folu Adeboye, has been preaching for women to arise and take their place in the society.

Convener of the event and the zonal pastor’s wife, Mrs Lydia Jegede, said she put the event together for Nigerian women to arise and take centre of authority in all spares of life, adding that Nigerian women were not mediocre.

“This event is meant to encourage women to arise and take their place in government, in business, in politics, in technology, in science, in leadership, in Church and in all spares of life,” she stated.
