I Am Not Sick – Actor Francis Duru Blasts

Veteran Nollywood actor, Francis Duru, has debunked viral social media reports claiming that he is battling a life-threatening illness.

The rumours began circulating after a video clip showing the actor in a frail state went viral on various social media platforms, causing panic and concern among his fans, friends, and colleagues.

Reacting to the reports through an Instagram video on Friday,  the 56-year-old actor dismissed the footage, describing it as fabricated, malicious, and a deliberate attempt to mislead the public.

“I am making this video with regard to very wicked videos circulating around about me being sick to the level that you could see in that video. Well, I have never been that sick and will never be that sick. And by God’s grace, we keep being stronger and stronger.”

The actor strongly condemned those behind the video, labeling them “merchants of darkness” who invent negative stories solely to drive online traffic and engagement.

He also raised concerns over the dangerous trend of using manipulated digital content, including artificial intelligence (AI), to damage individual reputations for financial gain.
