France head coach Didier Deschamps will not be on the touchline for the upcoming match against Norway following the death of his mother.
The French Football Federation confirmed the development on Tuesday, saying Deschamps will return to France to be with his family.
He is expected to travel home immediately to pay his respects and support his family during the period of mourning.
As a result, he will miss France’s fixture against Norway, with coaching responsibilities set to be handled by the technical staff in his absence.
