Kaduna ADC Leaders End Factional Rift After Reconciliation Meeting

Factional leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State have resolved their differences following a reconciliation meeting convened by the party’s 2023 governorship candidate, Hon. Isa Ashiru.

The meeting, which lasted about three hours at Ashiru’s office in Kaduna on Monday, brought together leaders of the various factions of the party in a bid to end the lingering leadership crisis in the state.

Those in attendance included Elder Patrick Ambut, Ben Bako, Tijjani Mustapha, Bege Katuka, the party’s Zonal Vice Chairman, Hajiya Hafsat Baba, and other stakeholders.

Speaking after the meeting, Ambut commended Ashiru’s leadership and described the reconciliation as a significant step towards rebuilding unity within the party.

He said the meeting had effectively brought an end to the factional divisions in the Kaduna chapter of the ADC, stressing that members had agreed to prioritise the growth and success of the party.

“This meeting represents a way forward for the party. Our collective interest is the success of the ADC, and we have resolved to work together in unity,” he said.

Also speaking, Tijjani Mustapha said the discussions, attended by 11 stakeholders, were fruitful and yielded far-reaching resolutions.

He disclosed that a communiqué would be issued to formally state the outcome of the meeting and the party’s position in Kaduna State.

On his part, Ben Bako said the leadership crisis that had affected the party in the state had been resolved, adding that legal disputes arising from the crisis were close to being withdrawn.

“Leadership is the ability to guide a party towards common goals, and that is exactly what has played out here today,” Bako said.
