‎Theatre Icon Mama Iya Osogbo To Be  Celebrated At 96 With Biography

‎Veteran Nollywood and theatre matriarch Mama Grace Owoola Oyin-Adejobi, popularly known as Iya Osogbo, will be honoured on Sunday, 13th September 2026, as she marks 96 years of life, faith and service to Nigerian culture.

‎This was made known by Sola Oyin Adejobi, who noted that the celebration will recognise Iya Osogbo as one of the enduring pillars of Nigerian theatre.

‎With a career spanning decades, she is celebrated as a legendary actress, stage icon and evangelist whose work has shaped generations of performers and audiences across Nigeria and beyond.

‎The milestone event will also feature the official launch of her biography titled: ‎Grace Owoola Oyin-Adejobi (IYA OSOGB): The Track of a Nigerian Theatre Icon.

‎The book chronicles her journey from the early days of Yoruba travelling theatre to becoming a national treasure and a voice of moral leadership through drama and ministry.

‘‎Celebrating a Legend, Inspiring Generations’, is the theme of the day, which will bring together family, colleagues, industry leaders, cultural stakeholders and well-wishers to pay tribute to her grace, resilience and impact.
