Afrobeats singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has said he enjoys a cordial relationship with fellow music stars Wizkid and Davido, urging fans to stop fueling unnecessary rivalries in the industry.
Speaking during an interview on Yanga FM, the former P-Square member said every generation of artistes has its time in the spotlight, adding that the current era belongs to Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy.
According to him, fans should accept the natural transition in the music industry and respect the achievements of each generation.
“I have a good relationship with Wizkid and Davido. It’s their turn, and people should respect that. Nobody is going to be there forever,” he said.
Rudeboy noted that while no artiste remains at the top indefinitely, musicians can build lasting legacies through their impact and contributions to the industry.
“You can’t be there forever, but you can still put your legacy,” he added.
The singer also reflected on the influence of P-Square during its peak, saying the duo made a significant contribution to the growth of Afrobeats and should not be overlooked.
“I don’t see why people argue about Afrobeats. They should know that we also made our mark,” he said.
