Shaibu, Dikko, Olopade Urge Nigerians To Back Team Nigeria After Glasgow Medal Success

The Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Institute for Sports (NIS), Comrade Philip Shaibu, has joined the Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Mallam Shehu Dikko, and the Commission’s Director-General, Bukola Olopade, in urging Nigerians to continue supporting Team Nigeria as the country pursues more medals at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.

The appeal followed another impressive performance by Team Nigeria, with Chukwuebuka Enekwechi claiming a medal in the men’s shot put to further boost Nigeria’s tally and raise hopes of additional podium finishes as the Games enter their closing stages.

Shaibu, Dikko and Olopade praised the commitment, resilience and patriotism displayed by the Nigerian athletes, describing their performances as the reward for months of hard work, discipline and sacrifice.

They said the athletes deserved the unwavering support of Nigerians at home and across the diaspora, stressing that such encouragement could provide the extra motivation needed to achieve even greater success.
