President Bola Tinubu has appointed Yakubu Jang, son of former Plateau State governor and Senator Jonah Jang, as Senior Special Assistant in the Office of the President.
The appointment was announced by Vice President Kashim Shettima during the 80th birthday celebration and public presentation of former Governor Jang’s autobiography, “Airman to Politics: My Life Journey”, in Jos.
Speaking on behalf of President Tinubu, Shettima said the appointment was in recognition of Yakubu Jang’s competence and the administration’s commitment to inclusive governance.
The announcement was greeted with applause by guests at the event, which was attended by former President Goodluck Jonathan, governors, government officials, traditional rulers and other dignitaries from across the country.
The celebration also honoured Jang’s years of service to the nation as a Nigerian Air Force officer, former military administrator, two-term governor of Plateau State and senator.
