The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ajibola Basiru, has expressed confidence that the party will emerge victorious in the August 15 governorship election in Osun State, saying it has the experience, organisational strength and capacity required to reclaim the state.
Basiru spoke on Tuesday after a strategic meeting of APC leaders at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, where stakeholders reviewed preparations for the governorship election and fine-tuned campaign strategies ahead of the poll.
He said the meeting focused on strengthening grassroots mobilisation, voter engagement and coordination across the state’s local government areas and wards to ensure the party records victory at the election.
According to him, the APC remains united and fully prepared for the contest, expressing optimism that its governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, would secure the mandate of the people.
Basiru said the party would deploy its political experience, organisational capacity and the commitment of its members to prosecute an issue-based campaign capable of convincing voters to support the APC.
He urged party faithful to remain united, disciplined and law-abiding throughout the electioneering period, stressing that internal cohesion and peaceful conduct were essential to the party’s success.
The APC national secretary also called on eligible voters to participate peacefully in the election, assuring them of the party’s commitment to democratic values and good governance.
He maintained that an APC administration in Osun would prioritise economic growth, infrastructure development, improved security and policies aimed at improving the welfare of residents.
