We Commit To Get It Right With Abia Younger Generation – Otti

Abia State governor, Alex Otti, says his administration is committed to getting it right with the younger generation; otherwise, its developmental efforts will be in jeopardy.

Otti stated this yesterday while declaring the State Leadership Academy’s one-month 2026 Youth Leadership Bootcamp open to 1,000 participants in Umuahia, the state capital.

Represented by the deputy governor, Ikechukwu Emetu, he urged them to learn with humility and participate actively in the programme as future leaders of the country.

He said, “For 2026, we’ve partnered with the Enterprise Development Centre of Pan-Atlantic University—a global-standard institution with ties to the World Bank, Goldman Sachs, and MasterCard.
“I urge you to learn with humility, participate actively, build meaningful relationships and, most importantly, use what you learn to influence your schools, communities, and the state positively.”
In his address, the President of the Academy, Kenneth Kalu, disclosed that 7052 persons applied for the programme, and 1000, plus a few others, were qualified after the rigorous selection process.

‎‎He enjoined them “to think, reflect and become”, emphasising that what is more important is not that they participated in the programme but what they become after participating in it.

‎‎Earlier, the programme facilitator and Chairman of the State Civil Service Commission, Eno Jerry-Eze, said the programme aims to instil the ideals of civic responsibility among the participants.

‎‎Represented by a commissioner in the commission, Ifeoma Agu urged them to be determined to use the lessons of the bootcamp to better their lives and to be the change they crave.‎

‎Responding on behalf of the participants, Chukwuemerie Obiorah and Treasure Ogbonna assured that they would make good use of the opportunity to improve their lives and add value to society.
