Rapper and actor Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has advised against getting married before the age of 30, saying most people are not emotionally, mentally and financially prepared for such a lifelong commitment in their 20s.
The award-winning artiste shared his views during a recent episode of The BTS Reality podcast, where he encouraged young people not to succumb to societal pressure to marry early.
According to Falz, the years before 30 should be devoted to personal growth, self-discovery, career development and enjoying life’s experiences.
“Getting married in your 30s is the best. Don’t let anyone pressure you into getting married before 30. By your 30s, you have gained more life experiences. In your 20s, you are still figuring yourself out. Your 20s are for learning, growing, and enjoying life,” he said.
He explained that people are generally in a better position to make major life decisions once they reach their 30s.
“In your 30s, you combine all the knowledge and try to direct your life. So, it is better to wait till your 30s before getting married,” he added.
Falz, who has largely kept his personal relationships out of the public eye, has consistently used his platform to speak on issues affecting young people, including personal development, social justice and national affairs.
