Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will win all five categories of elections in Delta State in 2027, insisting that the opposition has already been defeated.
Dafinone made the declaration on Thursday while addressing journalists at the APC campaign flag-off held at Oleh Township Stadium in Isoko South Local Government Area of the state.
He said the massive turnout of supporters at the rally demonstrated the party’s growing political strength and widespread acceptance across Delta State, expressing confidence that the APC would record a five-over-five victory in the forthcoming general elections.
The senator attributed the party’s growing support to the performance of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the economic reforms introduced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying their respective achievements would strengthen public confidence in the APC.
He maintained that the Tinubu administration’s economic reforms were beginning to yield tangible results, particularly in macroeconomic stability, exchange rate management and the prices of food and other essential commodities.
Dafinone also attributed the relative stability of the naira and what he described as significant improvement in Nigeria’s foreign reserves to the economic policies of the federal government.
He said the country’s foreign reserve position had reached a level not recorded in the past 18 years, describing the development as evidence of progress in the administration’s reform agenda despite the initial economic difficulties experienced by Nigerians.
Speaking on the political atmosphere in Delta State, the lawmaker said the large crowds recorded at APC gatherings in Oleh and Ozoro reflected the party’s grassroots support and organisational strength.
He argued that the enthusiastic participation of party faithful, political leaders, women and youths indicated that opposition parties would face a difficult electoral contest in 2027.
However, Dafinone cautioned party leaders and supporters against complacency, stressing that the impressive turnout at political rallies should not make them relax ahead of the elections.
“In this coming elections, we want to win with convincing figures, overwhelming that our opponents would have no reason to go to court,” he said.
He urged APC faithful to intensify grassroots mobilisation and sustain engagement with voters across communities, wards and polling units, noting that the electoral contest would not be concluded until votes were cast, counted and results officially declared.
The Delta Central senator also commended the state APC leadership for adopting what he described as an issue-based campaign focused on governance, policies and performance.
He urged party members to respond to criticisms from political opponents by highlighting the administration’s records in infrastructure development, economic management and other areas of governance rather than engaging in personal attacks or inflammatory rhetoric.
Dafinone reiterated his confidence in the APC’s political prospects in Delta State, saying Tinubu’s economic reforms, Oborevwori’s developmental programmes and the party’s expanding grassroots structures would form the foundation of its 2027 campaign.
He urged party leaders and supporters to maintain unity, sustain voter mobilisation and translate the enthusiasm displayed at the Oleh campaign flag-off into electoral support in the 2027 general elections.
