2027: ADC Vows To Take Over Power In Niger

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has said that the party was poised to take over power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Niger State and at the national level in the next general elections.

The assurance was given yesterday by the state chairman of the party, Ahmed El-Waziri, while addressing journalists after a stakeholders’ meeting in Minna.

He said that the ADC was the only alternative and formidable political party for Nigerians if they desired to make the desired change in response to the current challenges facing the country.

El-Waziri emphasised that the party was united and had no unresolved crisis in the state, adding that they were ready to go into the 2027 general elections as a united front in order to seize power from the ruling party.

The party chairman said, “We are confident with the growing popularity and acceptance of the ADC across the state and the country.

“Despite the fact that there is a sitting government, this has unsettled the ruling party, resulting in what I described as attempts to weaken the opposition.”

He stated that the members of the party were focused and fully ready because the party’s acceptance in the state had strengthened them further ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He alleged that despite attempts by the ruling party to interfere in the affairs of opposition political parties through what he described as “hanky-panky” and conflicting court rulings, he questioned the level of independence of the judiciary.
