Taylor Swift’s ‘August’ Song Disappears From Trump-Linked TikTok Post

A Taylor Swift song has vanished from a TikTok video shared by an account affiliated with US President Donald Trump, after the track was used in a post featuring Trump and his wife, Melania.

The song, “August”, from Swift’s 2020 album Folklore, had been added to an edited video showing the couple watching fireworks. The Team Trump account, which was launched during Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign, captioned the post with a reference to Swift supposedly being pleased that her music had been used.

However, TikTok users in the United States noticed on Friday, August 7, that the audio was no longer available. The video now displays a notice stating, “This sound isn’t available.”

The change quickly triggered reactions in the comments, with some users suggesting that Swift had intervened to have the song removed.

“August” is reportedly not the only Swift track to disappear from content associated with Trump. According to Variety, another Team Trump video featuring her song “Father Figure” is no longer available, while a White House TikTok post that previously used “The Fate of Ophelia” has also disappeared.

Swift had not publicly addressed the removal of “August” at the time of reporting, leaving the reason for the audio’s disappearance unclear.

The Team Trump TikTok account currently has about 14 million followers and remains active, posting regularly.
