2027 Hajj: Adamawa Begins Early Preparations, Reviews Pilgrims’ Registration Process

The Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission has commenced early preparations for the 2027 Hajj exercise, with a focus on improving the registration process, strengthening transparency and ensuring a smooth pilgrimage experience for intending pilgrims.

The Acting Executive Chairman of the Commission, Malam Abubakar Salihu, disclosed this while presiding over an emergency meeting of the Commission’s Management Committee at its headquarters in Yola.

The meeting reviewed the registration process and the recent allocation of Hajj slots to Adamawa State by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

Salihu said the early preparations were aimed at preventing administrative bottlenecks and strengthening the Commission’s internal registration framework ahead of the pilgrimage.

He explained that the meeting was also convened to promote transparency in the selection and shortlisting of intending pilgrims and ensure the effective utilisation of the slots allocated to the state.

“Our goal is to ensure a seamless experience for our citizens. This emergency session is necessary to review our internal registration framework, ensure transparency in the shortlisting process, and maximise the utility of the slots allocated to us,” he said.

The Acting Executive Chairman stressed the importance of providing intending pilgrims with adequate orientation and timely information, particularly regarding new policies and requirements introduced by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

The Management Committee also deliberated on measures to strengthen sensitisation programmes across the state and ensure that intending pilgrims are properly informed, documented and adequately prepared well ahead of the 2027 pilgrimage.

Members of the committee reaffirmed their commitment to effective coordination, transparency and professionalism in the conduct of the 2027 Hajj operations.
