Osun Election 2026: Gov Adeleke Is Cruising To Victory Shame APC, Davido Declares

Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has claimed that his uncle and incumbent Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, is ahead in Saturday’s governorship election.

The singer made the claim in a series of social media posts as the counting of votes got underway across the state.

Davido also claimed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) lost the polling ward of former Osun State governor, Bisi Akande.

“Their group chat don scatter! Baba Akande lost his ward. Gov Adeleke is cruising to victory. Shame APC. Osun no be Edo!” he wrote.

Davido, who has publicly campaigned for his uncle, called on Osun residents to remain alert, while alleging that former governor Gboyega Oyetola had plans that voters should resist.

“I implore Osun people to stay vigilant all night and resist plans of Oyetola. Na we get Osogbo! Imole ti woleeeee,” he added.

In a separate post, the singer expressed confidence in Adeleke’s chances of retaining the governorship and urged security agencies to maintain their presence at polling units.

“We are winning, guys! Security agencies shouldn’t be withdrawn from electoral units,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, INEC officials have begun sorting and counting ballots at polling units across the state following the conclusion of voting.
