The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the release and safe return of businessman Chief J. J. Ezeokafor, father of socialite Jowizaza, alongside a Catholic reverend sister following their abduction in Awka.
Chief Ezeokafor was kidnapped on Tuesday, August 4, while traveling from his residence to a prayer ground in the Ifite-Awka area of the state capital.
In a statement on Thursday, the Command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, stated that security agencies are working to determine the circumstances surrounding their release and gather information to track down the perpetrators.

Ikenga noted that the Commissioner of Police, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, has ordered a joint manhunt involving the Police, Military, Department of State Services (DSS), and Civil Defence Corps to arrest the suspect group responsible for the crime.
