The Bida Emirate Ceremony Committee has released the programmes for the celebration of the 23rd anniversary of Etsu Nupe and chairman of the Niger State Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar.
The chairman of the committee and Barizhe Nupe, Alhaji Kassim Nma Yawa, said the events would start on 9th September and end on September 13.
He said the events included visits to hospitals by the monarch.
The committee said that the visit to hospitals and orphanages would continue the next day in neighbouring communities across the emirate, targeting vulnerable people.
According to him, there would be a special anniversary Walimat and prayers at the forecourt of Etsu Nupe’s Palace in Wadata, Bida, followed by a special anniversary church service at St. John’s Anglican Church, Bida.
He said the anniversary would witness the turbanning of some notable sons/daughters and friends of the Emirate at the Etsu Nupe’s Palace in Wadata, Bida.
Abubakar was appointed as the 13th Etsu Nupe on 11th September 2003. Since then, the day has been set aside to mark the anniversary with special prayers and visits to hospitals and orphanages.
