Yari’s Appointment As DG Of Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Will Deliver 2027 Victory – Shinkafi

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, has said the appointment of Senator Abdul’Aziz Abubakar Yari, Marafan Sokoto, as Director-General of the Tinubu/Shettima 2027 Presidential Campaign Council will strengthen the party’s preparations for the 2027 general elections.

Shinkafi, in a statement issued on Saturday, August 22, 2026, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Yari to lead the campaign council.

He said Yari’s previous political experience, including his tenure as Governor of Zamfara State, membership of the House of Representatives and his current position as a Senator, would be useful to the campaign.

Shinkafi recalled that Yari served as State Secretary and Chairman of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) in Zamfara State and was involved in the campaign for the re-election of Senator Ahmad Sani Yariman Bakura in 2003.

He also served as National Treasurer of the ANPP and represented Anka/Talata Mafara Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives from 2007 to 2011 before becoming Governor of Zamfara State.

Shinkafi said Yari played a role in the formation of the APC in Zamfara State while serving as governor.

He added that Yari’s experience across different levels of the party and government would help in coordinating the campaign ahead of the 2027 elections.

“As a distinguished Senator in the 10th Senate, Senator Yari is one of the foremost stakeholders consolidating the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda. With him leading the charge as Director-General, this Campaign Council will be disciplined, laser-focused, and will deliver a historic victory to the Tinubu/Shettima ticket and the APC,” he stated.

Shinkafi, who is an aspirant for Zamfara North Senatorial District in 2027, is also a patron of the 2023 Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council and a former National Secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

He called on APC members to support the campaign council ahead of the 2027 elections.
