2 Killed, 2 Abducted As Bandits Attack Kaduna Community

At least two people were killed and two others abducted by suspected bandits in Abu-Fadan, Fadan Ninzo Chiefdom, Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The incident occurred between 8pm and 9pm on Saturday, according to an eyewitness who spoke with our correspondent.

Confirming the attack, the Secretary of the Fadan Ninzo Traditional Council, Aminu A. Abdullahi, said in a statement issued on behalf of the paramount ruler, His Highness Uchu Fadan Ninzo, that one of the abducted victims, identified as Ezekiel from Gwantu, owns a private clinic near the residence of the late District Head of Abu District.

The second abducted victim is the wife of the late District Head of Abu, Mr Audu Galadima, also known as Fagachin Ninzo.

The statement said the two people killed were walking along the road near the clinic when the hoodlums, who were hiding in a plantation behind the facility, flashed a torchlight at them.

They were reportedly shot after asking who was flashing the light.

“Security personnel quickly came to the scene and are doing the needful,” the statement said.

The traditional ruler condemned what he described as an emerging wave of banditry in the chiefdom and urged security agencies to intensify surveillance in the area.

He also directed communities to comply with the palace’s directive to establish functional vigilance groups to secure their respective communities.

The monarch prayed for the repose of the souls of the two deceased victims and for their families to have the courage and fortitude to bear the loss.

He also prayed for the safe and speedy release of the two abducted victims.

The Kaduna State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, did not respond to calls seeking confirmation of the attack.
