Tinubu Campaign: APC Youth Leaders Back Olawande For Youth Mobilisation

The Forum of 37 APC State Youth Leaders has backed the appointment of the Minister of Youth Development, Hon. Ayodele Olawande, as Director of Youth Mobilisation of the Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The forum described Olawande’s appointment as strategic and well-deserved, citing his experience in government, grassroots connections and capacity to engage and mobilise young people across the country.

In a statement signed by its chairman, Comrade Zaka Nehemiah, the forum said Olawande’s previous experience as a youth leader in Ondo State had equipped him with a strong understanding of grassroots mobilisation, youth engagement and political coordination.

The youth leaders said his appointment further underscored the importance of young people in the political process, adding that youth leaders should be given meaningful roles in mobilising support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 election.

According to the forum, its structure comprises more than 19,533 youth leaders across 17,802 wards, 1,548 local government areas, 109 senatorial districts, the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

It pledged to deploy its grassroots structures and networks in support of Olawande’s responsibilities, particularly in mobilising young people and strengthening coordination at the grassroots.

“His experience, grassroots connection and proven capacity to engage young people make the appointment strategic and well-deserved. We are ready to deploy our structures and networks in support of effective youth mobilisation ahead of 2027,” the statement said.

The forum also congratulated Senator Abdul’Aziz Yari, CON, on his appointment as Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council, expressing confidence that his leadership would complement Olawande’s youth mobilisation efforts.

It expressed confidence that the combination of Yari’s leadership and Olawande’s youth mobilisation experience would contribute to a coordinated and inclusive campaign ahead of the 2027 elections.
