APC Group Urges Governors to Amplify Tinubu’s Achievements Ahead Of 2027

The leadership of Renewed Hope USA (RHU) has urged governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to prioritise achievements recorded in their respective states as part of efforts to strengthen support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The group made the call in a joint statement issued to journalists in Abuja yesterday, following a recent group leadership meeting in the United States.

The chairman of RHU, Chief Emeka Felix Molokwu, said the Tinubu administration and APC-led state governments had recorded what he described as tangible results in infrastructure, the economy, security and social welfare, but expressed concern that many of the achievements had not been sufficiently communicated to Nigerians.

Molokwu urged APC governors and other progressive governors to identify and showcase projects and programmes implemented in their states, particularly those aligned with the federal government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“The truth is, we have so many results on the ground, but we have lacked in the amplification.
The opposition is loud because they control the narrative. We must change that,” he said.

He called for a coordinated strategy among the governors to document achievements and communicate their impact effectively to citizens, particularly at the grassroots level.

Molokwu proposed a three-point action plan to improve public awareness of government achievements.

The plan includes documenting all federal and state projects completed or ongoing since May 2023; communicating achievements through town hall meetings and traditional and digital media platforms, including local languages; and mobilising citizens, traditional rulers, and youths to serve as grassroots ambassadors for the Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to him, major reforms introduced by the Tinubu administration, including fuel subsidy removal, exchange-rate reforms, the student loan scheme, and the establishment of regional development commissions, should be better explained to Nigerians at the grassroots level.

He said governors had a responsibility to “bring it home” by showing citizens how federal reforms and state-level initiatives were translating into tangible benefits in their communities.

Molokwu added, “Nigerians abroad are watching. They want to see progress. When our governors speak with facts and figures, the world will listen.”

Also speaking, RHU Secretary Amb. Khairat Animasaun-Ajiboye urged governors to align their state-level achievements with President Tinubu’s broader development vision.

She called on the governors to enumerate their achievements, demonstrate their impact on citizens and ensure that state programmes complement the Federal Government’s development agenda.

“I implore your excellencies to look inwards and enumerate your achievements and more. Importantly, key those achievements into President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision of ensuring the States and Local Governments are sufficiently allocated for,” she said.

Animasaun-Ajiboye further urged the governors to publish, educate, and promote their achievements, and to explain the short-term, medium-term, and long-term benefits of their programmes to the people.

Animasaun-Ajiboye said RHU was prepared to collaborate with APC-led state governments to develop data-driven reports, videos, and citizens’ testimonies highlighting government achievements for Nigerian and international audiences.

The group also called on the APC leadership to establish a National Achievements Documentation Committee to coordinate the documentation and communication of achievements across the states ahead of the 2027 elections.
