Kwara Youths Hail Tinubu Over Creation Of 9 Army Division

Some youths in Kwara State have held a solidarity rally in Ilorin, the state capital, to express their gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for approving the creation of the 9 Division of the Nigerian Army with its headquarters in Ilorin.

The youths who converged on the popular Challenge area on Murtala Mohammed Way in Ilori described the development as a major step towards strengthening security in the state.
Tinubu was praised for the creation of the new Army Division.

At the rally, the president of the Coalition of Kwara Youth Organisations, Saadu, said the development deserved appreciation from Kwarans, noting that the government had responded to the people’s security concerns.

“When President Bola Tinubu approved the creation of the 9 Division of the Nigerian Army with its headquarters in Ilorin, he did something no other President has done. He saw our vulnerability, and he responded with action,” Saadu said.

He also commended the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen. Waidi Shuaibu, and the Chief of Defence Staff for their leadership and commitment to improving security in the country.

Saadu congratulated the newly appointed General Officer Commanding the 9 Division, urging him to maintain professionalism and justify the confidence reposed in him by Tinubu and the military leadership.

He said the division should not be seen only as a military installation but also as an opportunity for economic development, job creation, and improved security, capable of attracting investors to Kwara.

He assured that the youth would cooperate with the military and other security agencies in their efforts to protect lives and property.

Also speaking, the publicity secretary of the Arewa Youth Assembly, Aliyu Muhammad, described the creation of the division as a historic development in the country’s security journey.

Muhammad commended Tinubu for approving the expansion of the Nigerian Army from 8 to 12 divisions, the recruitment of additional personnel, and measures to improve soldiers’ welfare.

He said that having the division closer to the people would give farmers greater confidence to return to their farms, while children would be able to attend school without fear.

Muhammad urged Nigerians to support security agencies with useful information, prayers and goodwill, stressing that security was a collective responsibility.
