Food Concepts Plc, Nigeria’s leading quick-service restaurant company, has officially expanded into Plateau State with the launch of Chicken Republic and PieXpress in Jos bringing its range of quality and affordable meals closer to residents and visitors in the city.
The new outlets located on Old Airport Road, Jos, commenced operations and was officially opened on August 29, with representatives of Food Concepts PLC, Plateau State Government officials, invited guests and members of the Jos community in attendance.
The expansion marks an important milestone for Food Concepts as it extends its footprint into Plateau State, bringing two of its well-known brands closer to consumers in Jos and offering residents more convenient options for everyday meals.
While Chicken Republic brings its range of quality and affordable meals, including its signature Smokey Jollof, Chickwhizz, sides and other customer favourites, Pie Xpress offers a selection of freshly baked pies and other quick meal options.
Speaking at the opening, the Managing Director, Food Concepts PLC, Mr Kofi Abunu who was represented by Mr. Olumide Aniyikaiye, Marketing Director, Food Concepts Plc, said the launch reflects Chicken Republic’s commitment to expanding its reach and becoming part of the communities it serves.
“The opening of our first outlet in Jos marks an important milestone in our continued expansion across Nigeria. We are excited to bring our quality and affordable meals to the people of Plateau State. Jos is a vibrant and growing city, and we are pleased to become part of its community while creating greater access to the meals our customers know and love.

Welcoming the development on behalf of the Plateau State Governor, Hon. Musa Ibrahim Ashoms, Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, said the arrival of Chicken Republic and Pie Xpress would contribute to the state’s business and tourism landscape.
“We welcome Chicken Republic and PieXpress to Jos. This establishment will add to the tourism potential and business growth of the state while giving our people another opportunity to experience quality and delicious meals. We also urge the company to consider opening more outlets across the city and the state,” he said.
Also speaking, Comrade Prince Miaphen, Plateau State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, highlighted the opportunities the new outlets could create for young people.
“I welcome Chicken Republic and PieXpress officially to Plateau State and urge our youths to patronise the brands. Beyond the food and its affordability, the opening creates opportunities for job creation and skills training, allowing young people to gain relevant experience in the hospitality industry,” he said.
Speaking at the event, Susan Foyeke Oke-Job, Regional Manager, Abuja and North, said the expansion reflects Food Concepts’ commitment to serving the Jos community while contributing to the local economy.
“Our expansion into Jos is a strategic step driven by our commitment to delivering high-quality meals, affordable prices, warm smiles and excellent service. The new outlets have created jobs for more than 30 young people and opened up business opportunities for local suppliers. We are not just opening restaurants; we are investing in the community,” she said.
The new outlets add to Jos’ growing food and lifestyle landscape, providing individuals, families and working professionals with another option for convenient meals and casual dining.
Customers can now visit Chicken Republic and PieXpress at Old Airport Road, opposite the Old NITEL Building, Jos, to enjoy the offerings from both brands.
