Federal Poly Bauchi Appoints Deputy Rector, 2 Directors

The Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi has approved the appointment of Dr. Usman Yusuf Dutse as the new deputy Rector of the institution, effective from September 1, 2026.

The Council also approved the appointment of two directors to head key directorates of the polytechnic.

According to a statement issued yesterday by the director of information and public relations in the institution, Alhaji Mohammed Rabiu Wada, the approval for Dutse’s appointment was given at the 112th sitting of the Governing Council.

Dr.  Dutse’s appointment followed an election conducted during a meeting of the academic board.

The election was conducted through an open secret ballot in line with the established procedures of the institution.

The statement said Dutse secured the majority of votes cast by members of the board.

His election was conducted ahead of the expiration of the tenure of the outgoing deputy rector, Dr. Dalhatu Sa’idu Abubakar, at the end of August.
