Yusuf, Tinubu Partnership Yielding Dividends For Kano People, Says Suleiman

A media analyst, Mal. Abdulmalik Suleiman has described the growing partnership between Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a model of cooperative federalism already yielding tangible developmental benefits for the state.

Suleiman stated this in Abuja on Monday while assessing the impact of the governor’s collaboration with the Federal Government.

According to him, testimonies from far and near show that Governor Yusuf is sincerely serving the people of Kano, working day and night to meet their yearnings and aspirations.

He said those who predicted the governor’s failure have been proven wrong by his achievements, noting that critics have now gone silent in the face of visible progress.

Suleiman noted that Governor Yusuf, who joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) with the sole aim of attracting development to Kano, has worked harmoniously with stakeholders he met in the party, without rancour or conflict.

He cited the unprecedented unity among political leaders in the state, with the governor now standing shoulder to shoulder with former governors Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, as well as past and serving senators, all in support of President Tinubu and the APC.

“Beyond attracting federal appointments for eminently qualified Kano indigenes, the governor has united politicians across divides towards the singular goal of delivering Kano State for the APC,” Suleiman said.

He identified the proposed Kano metropolitan railway project, for which the Federal Government has earmarked over one trillion naira, as the most significant dividend of the collaboration. The project, he said, would ease transportation, decongest traffic, and boost commerce in Kano, Nigeria’s foremost commercial hub.

Suleiman added that Kano is also benefiting from increased federal presence in road infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, and social investment programmes under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He expressed optimism that the governor’s performance would make it easy to deliver Kano to President Tinubu and the APC in the 2027 general election.

“President Tinubu has found a great friend in the energetic governor, who represents everything the President stands for in terms of development and human capital. More than any other governor, Governor Abba is a firm believer in Mr President’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” he stated.

Suleiman concluded that Governor Yusuf has demonstrated true statesmanship by placing the interest of the people above partisan sentiments.
