Founder and Senior Pastor of Salvation Ministries, David Ibiyeomie, has recounted the heartbreaking account of a professor who passed away after being duped.
During a recent sermon, the clergyman sternly condemned cybercrime, popularly known as ‘Yahoo Yahoo’.

According to him, a professor in the Rivers State University he knew passed away after being duped of his entire savings.
After being duped, the professor clutched his burglar bar and collapsed, leading to his death.
Issuing a warning to the congregation during his sermon, he stated, “In this church if you are a yahoo, go to another church and give offering.I don’t care about how much you have”.
Jesus hates poor people sermon in 2025
In 2025, David Ibiyeomie sparked controversy over a sermon claiming Jesus never visited any poor person’s house because He hates poverty.
He further stated that believers should not associate closely with the poor.
“Jesus never visited any poor person in his house, that means He hates poverty“, He said.
However, renowned clergymen including Abel Damina and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) criticized him over the remark.
Despite the criticism, he reaffirmed his stance, claiming the Holy Spirit told him in the bathroom that he was right.
