Veteran Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has opened up about the difference between her experience working in Hollywood and Nollywood, particularly regarding residuals and royalties.
The actress revealed that despite spending only five years working in Hollywood, she regularly receives payments from her past work in the form of residuals and royalties.
However, she claimed that her three decades in Nollywood have yielded no such payments.
Omotola made the remark while highlighting the disparity in how actors are compensated for their work in the two film industries.
According to her:
“I’ve only worked in Hollywood for five years, yet I constantly receive envelopes containing my residuals and royalties. I’ve worked in Nollywood for 30 years and have never received a single envelope. Maybe they don’t know where I live.”
