The Nigerian Immigration Services has intercepted two persons suspected to be members of a kidnapping Syndicate, identified as Alhaji Jaye and Buba Bello age and recovered 34 million.
The command investigation revealed that the suspects claimed the money was intended to pay a ransom in connection with the release of his brother.
The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service has directed that the suspects and all recovered items in their possession be handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Adamawa State Command, for further investigation and necessary action.
The command also intercepted 17 irregular migrants at Rumde Baru of Yola South LGA. The undocumented migrants were intercepted at a private three-bedroom residence following credible intelligence by officers of the command.
Preliminary profiling revealed that the group comprised i. thirteen (13) Cameroonian nationals, consisting of eight (8) males and five (5) females. Four (4) Chadian national all males 4. The Command has observed a shift in the lodging pattern of undocumented migrants, as some have moved from conventional lodging facilities such as hotels to private and unregistered apartments within the state capital. The NIS Adamawa State Command reiterates its commitment to safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity, migration management and improving border security.
