Editors’ Delegation Inspects Kano Development Projects

Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) has undertaken an inspection tour of some major development projects being executed by the Kano State government under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

The tour, led by the state commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, provided members of the Guild with an opportunity to see the projects firsthand and gain a deeper understanding of their objectives, scope and expected impact on the people.

The team visited ongoing housing project being implemented by the state government to provide decent accommodation, improve living conditions and address the housing needs of residents e.

The editors proceeded to Gaya, where they visited the palace of the Emir of Gaya, Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir.

The tour continued to Tal’udu, where the NGE delegation inspected the ongoing flyover project. The infrastructure project is aimed at improving transportation, easing traffic congestion and facilitating smoother movement for residents and commuters within the area and its environs.

The final destination of the inspection tour was Northwest University, Kano, where the delegation inspected some ongoing projects and facilities being developed to improve the learning environment and strengthen educational infrastructure for students and staff.

The tour also provided senior editors from across Nigeria with an opportunity to interact with relevant officials, ask questions and obtain firsthand information about the projects being undertaken by the Kano State Government.

The engagement underscored the importance of a strong and transparent relationship between government and the media, particularly in ensuring that members of the public receive accurate and balanced information about government policies, programmes and development initiatives.

The Kano State Government believes that meaningful development should be visible and impactful, with the ultimate objective of improving the lives and well-being of the people.
