The National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) has announced the appointment of Mrs. Arese Ugwu as its new Acting Managing Director.
The over-the-counter securities exchange made the announcement on Friday using its social media handle on Instagram.
Mrs. Ugwu succeeds the immediate past Managing Director, Mr. Eguarekhide Longe.
In her response to the appointment, Mrs. Arase said: “My vision is to make NASD the market where Nigeria’s great growth businesses find the capital they need to scale and where investors can participate in the value they create.”
NASD is Nigeria’s self-regulatory securities exchange where non-listed securities or companies’ shares are traded across the counter.
The appointment of Arase marks the second MD since the exit of the pioneer MD, Mr. Bola Ajomale, who is currently the Director, Market Operations of Nigeria’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) following his retirement.
Ajomale led the NASD OTC Exchange from its inception until July 2022, when he retired and handed over leadership to Mr. Eguarekhide Longe.
