The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has urged Nigerians to reject division and embrace the values that promote unity, tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
She made the call in her message to mark the 2026 International Day of Peace, observed on Monday, with the theme: “Invest in Peace—For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day.”
Oluremi said lasting peace required the commitment and participation of everyone, stressing that peace begins in homes and extends to schools, workplaces and communities.
“ I encourage all Nigerians to reject division and embrace the values that unite us as one people. Let us invest in peace through our words, choices, and actions every day,” she said.
The First Lady identified tolerance, patience, justice, mutual respect and dialogue as values that strengthen peace in society.
According to her, peace is not limited to the absence of conflict but requires the collective efforts of individuals and communities to build a more harmonious society.
She urged Nigerians to demonstrate commitment to peace through their daily words, choices and actions.
Oluremi congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of the International Day of Peace and called for continued efforts to promote unity and peaceful coexistence across the country.
