A Kano Shari’a Court has ordered the remand of three men accused of conspiring to murder popular social media commentator, Ibrahim Khalil Dan Shagamu.
The defendants, Aliyu Adamu, Salihu Haruna and Sani Muhammad, were arraigned before the Kofar Kudu Upper Sharia Court on charges bordering on conspiracy and culpable homicide.
Police told the court that the incident occurred at Dan Shagamu’s residence in Gaida Quarters, Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State.
According to the prosecution, the three men went to the deceased’s residence at about 11pm on September 8, 2026, where they allegedly attacked and killed him by slitting his throat.
The police subsequently brought the defendants before the court over their alleged involvement in the killing.
The three defendants pleaded not guilty to the allegations.
Justice Ibrahim Sarki Yola, who presided over the proceedings, ordered that they be remanded in a correctional centre pending further proceedings.
The court adjourned the case until November 17, 2026, for continuation.
